Jackie Ferrara
American (born 1929, died 2025)
Location: Washington State Convention Center, Seattle
About the Artwork
Artist Jackie Ferrara's Meeting Place installation for the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle is one of her earliest artworks that is integrated into the building's architecture. It uses slate tiles and artist-designed benches and tables to define a Meeting Place in the middle of convention activities. Ferrara's interest in pyramid and ziggurat shapes is seen in the triangle and zigzag patterns on the tile floors. The artwork is made of the geometric patterned tile floor, nine benches, and two end tables.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Washington State Convention Center.
