Artist Carol Tate created this brightly colored quilt for Cottonwood Elementary. The energetic, abstract composition uses lines and repetition to suggest a landscape filled with dynamic elements.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Central Kitsap School District.
About the Artist
Carol Tate is a textile artist and designer. She began her art career as a painter and botanical illustrator in her home town of Houston, Texas. Relocating to Seattle in her early twenties, Tate started creating hand-pieced and hand-dyed textiles. During the 1980s-90s, she ran a Seattle home furnishings and décor showroom based on textiles. She now works and lives in the Texas Hill Country.Carol Tate's birthdate and further biographical details are not known to us.
