About the Artwork

'Desert Pond and Rushes' is an impressionistic painting by artist Cynthia Krieble in which a landscape scene is composed using a varied array of colored paint strokes in a focused, close-up perspective. With this technique, Krieble is able to convey both texture and depth, bringing the viewer's attention to the dynamic between individual components and the overall scene.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Tonasket School District.

About the Artist

Krieble is Professor Emeritus at Central Washington University, where she taught painting and drawing for over twenty years.
