About the Artwork
Artist Nancy Halbrooks' Symbol Grid I (White) print depicts a series of objects in vibrantly saturated colors. She drew inspiration from several artists that investigate color theory and the transition from realism to abstraction. But she creates her own visual language of expressive symbols. Halbrooks created this print during a printmaking residency at Centrum, a center for the arts in Port Townsend, on the Olympic Peninsula in Northwest Washington.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Auburn School District.
