About the Artwork
Inner Light is a monotype by artist Stephen Hayes, printed at North Light Editions in Portland, Oregon. He notes, "More and more my work seems to be a response to my immediate surroundings and how they serve as a metaphor for the things I think about. So this on one level is a picture of my front porch… On another level it is a work about revealing things, being on the inside and the outside of a person, etc." Monotypes are unique prints created by painting with inks directly onto the printing plate. Only one print can be made from the plate. The image is transferred onto paper using a printing press.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Department of Health.
