About the Artwork
Man From The Installation "Personal Space" is a metal wire sculpture created by artist Carolyn King. The form evolved over several years. The artist first constructed the basis of the sculpture from metal found in a furnace on the Marylhurst College campus. She then built a wire shell around the central structure, which she let patina with age and rust outside for a long time. She finally applied a copper overlay.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Vancouver Public Schools.
