Cow, 1989

Garth Edwards
American (born 1950, died 2021)

Location: Alpac Elementary School, Pacific

About the Artwork

Combining whimsical imagery, humor, and bold colors, Garth Edward's enameled steel Cow is based on a simple and spontaneous sketch. Regarding this process, Edwards notes, "I always have to remember to leave my drawings alone before they get too worked out. That initial impulse is often the one with the most feeling. And to me feeling equals meaning."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Auburn School District.
