About the Artwork
Artist Melissa Madsen created the whimsical painting Soggy Doggy as a reflection on life in the Northwest. She notes "the basic element is the weather, the rainy sky serves as a backdrop to all the humor and chaos that bombards our daily lives." The house shape is a common format for her artworks, and symbolizes a familiar, relatable environment.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Battle Ground Public Schools.
