About the Artwork
School of Fish (Offspring of the 1982 "Breakwater Run") is a sculptural installation created by artist Buster Simpson. The sculpture is comprised of fourteen steel and aluminum fish placed together on support poles of various heights. He coated the fish with resin, glass beads, stainless steel forks, and glass mirrors to shimmer like fish scales. Together they appear like a school of fish swimming in the water. He installed the sculpture on the breakwater next to the fishing pier at the Edmonds dock.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with City of Edmonds.
