About the Artwork

Coulee, West View is part of a body of landscape paintings by artist Anne Fiske that express the feeling of being in nature. This painting captures the play of sunlight on the cliffs at Sun Lakes State Park, near Coulee City, Central Washington. She notes, “I seek big open space sites in the landscape that conform to compositions I want. Once I have found a site, I sketch from life as I want the painting to be about a true and memorable experience.”

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Big Bend Community College.
