Black Butte (#482) depicts the volcano peak located in the Cascade Range mountains of Oregon state. It is part of a body of monotype prints by artist Cie Goulet that capture the varied landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. Using thick printing inks on black paper, this piece features richly saturated colors and a glowing, vibrant surface.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Bellingham School District.

About the Artist

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, artist Cie Goulet creates monotype prints and oil paintings of rich and vibrant landscapes. A graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute, University of Oregon and the Parson's School of design, Goulet has exhibited her work in galleries across the country.
