About the Artwork
Inland Fields (#443) is part of a body of monotype prints by artist Cie Goulet that illustrate elements of the Pacific Northwest landscape. Monotypes are unique prints created by painting directly onto the printing plate. The artist notes, “What intrigues me in the selection of particular compositions is the opportunity to find dramatic linear elements: foreshortening, layers of terrain, etc., that lead the viewer into the landscape…”
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with North Thurston Public Schools.
