Two Bull Elks With a Fiery Sky: Trophy #9 is part of artist Francisco Alvarado-Juárez's series of mixed media paintings that investigate "nature and the destruction of our fragile environment." About the Artist

New York City-based artist Francisco Alvarado-Juarez creates artworks in a variety of media, including painting, photography, video art, and mixed media installations.
Born in Honduras, Alvarado-Juarez moved to New York City in his teens. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Stony Brook University on Long Island, New York. He studied photography at the International Center for Photography in New York City and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
