About the Artwork
Gold is a mixed-media painting by artist Jerry Scheideman. He created the composition by incorporating oil pastel, ink, and watercolor at the same time. He notes that his artistic training and choices center on "the abstract expressive quality of art… the dynamic quality of push and pull within an art work remains important to me to this day. I have always liked round shapes, circles, and elongated circles, which at times can be seen as leaves."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Auburn School District.
