About the Artwork

Cronies Across Creek is a figurative landscape painting by artist Roger Jones. The painting depicts two Holstein cows looking at two birds in a richly detailed scene. The artist notes, “I have had an ongoing fascination with cows since about 1975… In addition, my childhood memories come into play as I grew up in Eastern Washington near relatives’ farms and pasturelands. The summer season is clearly an important element, especially with the willow trees in their fullest state.”

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Sedro-Woolley School District.
