About the Artwork
Multiple Halos is a drawing by artist Nancy Halbrooks. It is part of her ‘Absent Angels’ series of abstract pastel and charcoal drawings. She used a process of layering and wiping away areas of color and shadow to create the images in this series. She notes, “The drawings are of light and air. This piece focuses on the halo symbol. The halos were created through the use of stencils, and iridescent pastels, repeated and rubbed, erased over each other creating the layers of floating halos.”
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Highline School District.
