About the Artwork

The painting Catch of the Day by artist Patti Warashina represents a departure from the artist's ceramic sculptural works and is part of her series of narrative compositions on paper. This piece explores man's relationship to nature, and Warashina notes "the net is a symbolic fulcrum and man-made tool signifying the balance of behavior, the proliferation of man, as well as the protection of nature."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Montesano School District.
