About the Artwork

Tony Angell's limestone sculpture Marsh Owl depicts the migratory owl that winters along the Skagit River Delta in Northwest Washington. The artist often visits this area to sketch wildlife. He notes, "Visiting the estuary and watching the birds coarse back and forth over the salt grass and bull rush I am left with the feeling that they, along with other prominent life here, are the very spirit of this place."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Northshore School District.
