About the Artwork

Autumn Walk is part of artist Cheri O’Brien’s body of work that explores the interaction between humans and dogs. This piece captures the plants and animals that she sees on everyday walks with her dogs. She notes, “We often see rabbit and bullfrogs and usually see ducks… I have a beautiful view of the Cascade Mountains and the Snohomish River and often times I will work that scene into my paintings as I have done here.”

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Burlington-Edison School District.

About the Artist

Northwest artist Cheri O'Brien creates quirky and humorous narrative folk-compositions. She uses many different materials, including oil painting, paper-mache sculpture, and painted glass. In her own words, "My paintings are reflections of my life as an artist, mother, and observer. I attempt to understand my world with finding humor in beauty and the beauty of humor."
