About the Artwork
Artist Anne Fiske painted the watercolor Cascade Mountains from life, and it is a view from Seattle. She was inspired by the quality of light hitting the peaks on a clear morning, and the "feeling that many people in Seattle share, 'Oh, the mountains are out this morning.' ... this is when they are frothy and changeable, indistinguishable from the mist, clouds, and shadows that blend the mountain peaks into the sky."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Naches Valley School District.
