About the Artwork
Ripple Effect III by Timothy Robert Smith is a mural depicting iconic aspects of the Puyallup area, with an extreme perspective. The imagery includes the Classical Coaster (an historic wooden roller coaster), Dr. Vitt Ferrucci the school's namesake, the Cosimo and Cosima school mascots, Mount Rainer, the Johnson Jewelry Clock, Seattle's Space Needle, a Sounder train, the Meeker Mansion, daffodils, and several students climbing to new places. Smith wanted to create something that portrays the feeling of students ascending through a spiral vortex in the sky, transporting them to new dimensions and new chapters in life.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Puyallup School District.
