About the Artwork

Fount is a stainless steel and glass sculpture created by artist Jim Pridgeon for Kenmore Junior High School, in Northwest Washington. The fountain theme draws on references to the local watershed habitats that surround the school. The metaphor of fountains, such as the "fount of knowledge" and the "fountain of youth," inspired the design. Pridgeon notes, "Learning is central to our survival and renewal both as individuals and as communities."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Northshore School District.
