About the Artwork

Artist Heath Satow created YES as a site-specific sculpture to inspire the students of Bates Technical College. The multi-faceted stainless steel artwork represents strength and determination. It also reflects back the world and the students with its highly polished surface. The word YES is etched into the top of the sculpture and can be seen from the top of the building's interior stairwell. Satow states that the sculpture "represents the students and their ability to say yes to the challenge of their academic goals." The artwork is a positive affirmation to all who see it.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Bates Technical College.
