About the Artwork
Artist Jeremy Mangan's painting Occasionally One or Two Get Out, But They Never Go Far playfully combines photorealistic landscapes of the Pacific Northwest with imagined elements. His work hopes to "capture moments of a story of motivations and activities, always in tension: strange yet familiar, haunting yet beautiful, mournful yet celebratory."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Peninsula College.
About the Artist
Northwest artist Jeremy Mangan paints landscapes. He explores “landscapes where there is some evidence of human intervention, but nature still dominates.”
Mangan received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and a Bachelor of Arts in German at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Western Washington. He was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Germany. He received a Master of Fine Arts in painting at Hunter College, City University of New York.
