Artist Todd Horton's paintings of his rural Skagit Valley home draw the viewer's attention to overlooked details, the precariousness of life, and the small changes that compromise each day.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Northwest Career and Technical Academy.

About the Artist

Todd Horton’s art focuses on landscapes and wildlife. His style is realistic but with elements of chance and abstraction, that encourage symbolism, “making us more sensitive to the world around us” in his own words. Horton lives on his boat on the Samish River in Edison, Northwestern Washington.
