About the Artwork
Artist Jack Gunter created the mural Futureville for the Sno-Isle Tech Skills Center in Everett, Washington. It is his first public art project with the Washington State Arts Commission. The mural features a birds-eye view of Everett, with many details showing how daily life may be seen in the future. The artist notes, "everyone on the streets of a future village are practicing the trades that make a community complete."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Mukilteo School District.
About the Artist
Jack Gunter creates egg tempera paintings. He also writes books and makes independent films. He lives and works on Camano Island, on North Puget Sound, Western Washington.Gunter received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Bowdoin College in Maine. He pursued gradaute studies in organic chemistry from the University of New Hampshire.
