About the Artwork
The Rookery's six porcelain enameled panels depict two herons in their nest. Its imagery is inspired by the nearby Turnbull Wildlife Refuge, which provides habitat for a colony of Great Blue Heron.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Spokane Public Schools.
About the Artist
Tina Hoggatt is a visual artist, writer, and illustrator. She creates mixed media sculpture, paintings, and books for young readers. She received a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing for children and young adults from Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
