About the Artwork

Mary Josephson's mural painting depicts the four seasons in rural Outlook, Central Washington. Her painting pays homage to our connection to the earth, the importance of exploring the world, and the ways we practice acceptance of those different from ourselves.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Sunnyside School District.

About the Artist

Portland, Oregon-based artist Mary Josephson creates paintings, lithograph prints, glass artworks, ceramics, and embroidery. Her work celebrates human experience through storytelling.
Josephson studied at the École National Superior des Beaux Arts in Paris, France, before receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon, in 1986.
