About the Artist
Seattle-based artist and professor Jamie Walker creates ceramic sculptures with an emphasis on materiality, perception, and chance.
Walker is Director and Chair of the School of Art + Art History + Design department at the University of Washington in Seattle. He has taught at the University of Washington since 1989, and has served as Director since 2014. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in ceramics from the University of Washington in 1981. He received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in 1983.
