The Big Picture, 2006
Barbara Wilson
British (born 1958)
Location: Columbia Basin Secondary School, Moses Lake
About the Artwork
Barbara Wilson's painting represents Columbia Basin Secondary School's students' journey through school and life. The first panel focuses on the school at the center, surrounded by family and teachers. The journey continues in a counter-clockwise direction: to Seattle, and to other places such as a tropical island, Antarctica, India, Egypt, and outer space. The artist hopes that the imagery inspires exploration throughout life: "Where can you go from here? There are no boundaries." The students will be supported in their explorations by the strong foundations of their education.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Moses Lake School District.
