About the Artwork
Pending Communication is a representation of the many languages spoken by the diverse student body of Mount Tahoma High School. The hanging artwork is comprised of the letters and symbols of each language. The sculpture's form takes its inspiration from a spiral of rising smoke.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Tacoma Public Schools.
About the Artist
Based in Walla-Walla, Southeastern Washington, Wayne Chabre creates architectural, garden and public art sculptures. His works are made from a variety of metals and feature playful, figurative imagery.
