About the Artwork
Artist Ellen Sollod created Solar Chamber to change appearance throughout the day. The artwork responds to sunlight with reflective dichroic glass. This type of glass contains multiple colors that change depending on light and the viewer's position. The work continues to react and change after dusk with a solar panel that charges LED lights.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with South Seattle College.
