About the Artwork

Inland Delta is part of artist Karen Guzak’s series of paintings titled “Water and Wind.” The ideas and imagery in the series focus on how these elements shape our planet. The triptych composition, created on three panels, shows an aerial view of a desert landscape. Channels of water carve the land, forming an “inland delta.” The series is part of the artist’s broader body of work about maps. These works look at how we attempt to understand, measure, and control the natural world.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Washington State University.
