About the Artwork
In Granger's Bounty, David Fichter depicts the community of Granger in the Yakima Valley of Central Washington – including its culture, landscape, history, and traditions. Images include the Granger area as seen from an overlook on Cherry Hill, the Cherry Festival parade, fishing, picnicking, Mexican-American and Yakima cultural identity, children playing, harvesting fruits and hops, and (best of all) children riding a dinosaur.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Granger School District.
About the Artist
David Fichter is a Massachusetts-based community muralist. He engages the community with his work, working with students and teachers to create group murals that explore the unique aspects and diversity of their schools and communities.Fichter graduated at Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His murals are found in the United States and other countries, including Armenia, Georgia, and Nicaragua.
