About the Artwork
The tower for this artwork is placed within the footprint of the plaza, and the sculpture itself strikes at the noon line. Golden Section is based on the classical geometric proportion of order, and it represents the merging of different people and ideas on the Vancouver campus.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Washington State University.
About the Artist
Michael Davis is a Los Angeles-based artist, working in the fields of drawings, sculptures, installation art and public art. He creates politically conscious works with a personal narrative. Capitalism, the Cold War, and minimalist art theory inform his practice. Michael Davis received a Master of Fine Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton.
