About the Artwork

Amphora With Double Feet is a porcelain sculpture created by ceramic artist Gina Freuen. It is one of the artist’s vessels created using slab building, rolled textures, and wheel-throwing techniques. An Amphora is an ancient Greek and Roman vessel used to carry goods and wine. They were often decorated with elaborate images and decorative motifs. With two “feet” at the base of this vessel, the form takes on a human quality.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Washington State Arts Commission.
