This glass sculpture by artist David Schwarz features curved areas of iridescent textures and colors with architecturally inspired designs of cubes, lines, and grids etched throughout the layered surface of the glass.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Administrative Office of the Courts.

About the Artist

Northwest artist David Schwarz creates distinctive and intricately patterned glass sculptures. Born in Vancouver, Washington, Schwarz graduated with a Master of Arts from Illinois State University and taught at the Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, Northwestern Washington, in the 1980s. His glassworks have been the subject of national and international exhibitions, and his pieces are collected by many institutions, including the Corning Museum of Glass and the Smithsonian Museum of American Art in Washington D.C.
