The Studio's in the Basement was created as a self portrait by artist Anne Storrs. Referencing how growth occurs for root vegetables when buried underground, the artist explores how her creative process is tied to her underground studio.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Auburn School District.

Portland, Oregon-based artist Anne Storrs creates sculptures inspired by natural forms, and they often involve pattern and repetition. Her work includes small ceramic pieces as well as large-scale installations in metal, concrete, ceramic, and stone.
