About the Artwork
Everett Arbor is an environmental installation by artist Anna Valentina Murch. It is comprised of four flared trellis structures emerging from cedar benches, on which climbing clematis grows. Murch describes her piece as a "Vertical Garden" that celebrates the changing seasons. She continues that the piece "symbolizes a place to meet, pause or rest by the center walkway of campus... These linear forms of stainless steel rod are reminiscent of fish weirs, and baskets, native to the area; and like them retain the gesture of their making."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Everett Community College.
