About the Artwork
Goatsbeard is part of artist Cynthia Krieble's body of impressionistic paintings. These works depict the landscape of Central Washington and are characterized by bright colors and gestural brush strokes. This piece was painted on location and captures lush vegetation in an abstracted composition. The title refers to a plant with a large seed head similar to dandelions. Krieble describes her process of painting as "an intense investigation of the visual nature of things in my surroundings, as it reflects the influence of time, place and my state of mind."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Lake Stevens School District.
