About the Artwork

'V.B. #2' is part of artist Peter Cody's series "The Voting Booth." He based the series on his memory of walking into a voting booth with his mother at age six. He notes, "I looked up and saw all these levers and was overpowered by the intensity of this machine – I also liked the geometric pattern of the levers."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with San Juan Island School District.

About the Artist

Peter Cody is a Seattle-based artist. He creates paintings and prints. He studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He has served as a drawing instructor for Spokane Community College in Eastern Washington.
