This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Office of the Governor.

About the Artist

Northwest artist and curator Kenneth Callahan (1905-1986) created expressive paintings and murals in a distinct regional style influenced by Asian art, Northwest history, and nature. He was an important figure in the Northwest art school of the 1930s and 40s. Callahan was honored with a Washington State Governor's Arts and Heritage Award in 1983.
