Exposed Elements is a painted textile artwork created by artist Kathleen Coyle. The composition was designed using a wax-resist method to apply paint. The artist notes that the abstract shapes and forms represent the power and energy of human emotions.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Griffin School District.

About the Artist

Kathleen Coyle is a Seattle-based artist who creates textiles, mixed media artworks, and jewelry.
Coyle attended Kent State University as a Design and Craft major from 1975 to 1977. In the summer of 1977, she traveled around the United States before landing in Seattle. In 1982, she graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Textile Design.
