Town House, 1990

Claudia Cave
American (born 1951)

Location: Park Place Middle School, Monroe

About the Artwork

Artist Claudia Cave composed Town House on black paper. She notes that this stylistic choice "contributes to the inward looking feeling of the painting and also gives it a mysterious quality." It is an example of her use of house imagery as a symbol of the inner self. She notes, "Within each room is a question being asked, but not answered, as life seems to be more question than conclusion."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Monroe School District.
