About the Artwork
Spring Mounds is an aerial landscape photograph created by artist Mark Abrahamson. The image depicts the Skagit River watershed during a dry spring in 1992. This image is part of the artist's series "Watershed Investigations" that documents adverse impacts to our water in rural and coastal watersheds throughout the U.S. Abrahamson believed that "public awareness of the importance of good water quality has increased significantly... I'm optimistic over the long term that my daughters and future grandchildren will see a restored Skagit River."
