About the Artwork
Europa Series: Deja Vu by artist Juliana Heyne is part of a series based on her travels to Eastern Europe in the early 1990s. She visited Prague, Budapest, and rural communities in the Czech Republic and Hungary. This painting captures the artist's experience of "the age, beauty and fragility of these cities."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Kent School District.
About the Artist
Seattle-based painter Juliana Heyne captures imagery based on her travels near and far. She is inspired by the beauty of aging cities, construction sites, and natural structures in the middle of nowhere. In her own words "No matter the subject matter, there's some kind of beauty at its core that draws me."
