About the Artwork
Fall Reforest is a photograph by artist Neil McWee. It captures the crisp light and calm reflection of autumn trees along the bank of the Wenatchee River. It was taken outside of Leavenworth, Washington. The artist was traveling with two photographer companions who were impatient to reach Eastern Washington to take images of the Palouse region. He notes, "too often in life we are all in a hurry to get someplace else, and we forget about the magic of living in the right now, and enjoying what is with us, close to home, and where we're at, and be happy with our present situation. We drove all the way out to the Palouse. Neither man felt that they found the photographs they were looking for...I think that is an important part of this photograph to me, and will always be. The magic was happening close to my home, and I didn't have to go clear across the state to have it."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Klickitat School District.
