Rainshadow & Lightning Bird, 1996

Debra Davis
American (born 1960)

Location: Skagit Valley College, Mount Vernon

About the Artwork

Artist Debra Davis composed 'Rainshadow & Lighting Bird' by creating a middle panel to connect two previously unfinished watercolor paintings. Refering to this process as working out a "visual puzzle," Davis invites viewers to look closely at the many layers and hidden imagery to be found in this landscape.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Skagit Valley College.
