About the Artwork
Laughing Couple is part of artist Terry Furchgott's body of figurative paintings that explore the theme of connection and relationships among ethnically and culturally diverse people. Discussing her subjects, Furchgott notes that the "intimacy and spontaneity which flows between them transcends race or country, and is archetypically human."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Mukilteo School District.

Terry Furchgott creates richly colorful figurative paintings, murals, and installations that explore the dynamics of human relationships and communities.
Furchgott received an honors degree in art history from Radcliffe College, Harvard University in Massachusetts, and studied at Camden Arts Center in London, England.
