About the Artwork

Sculptor Brad Rude tells stories through his work, often using animals as the characters. Motion of Life sits in the main plaza of Skagit Valley College's Whidbey Island campus, in northern Puget Sound. It is a bronze sculpture of animals around a wheel. The sculpture mirrors the constant movement of the students on campus—literally as they walk by the sculpture and around campus, and symbolically as they work toward their education and life goals.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Skagit Valley College.
